I'm Back
Did ya miss me? Did ya, Did ya?
We went on our 6th annual Disney Family vacation and boy did we have a good time. We did a ton of walking so I am still recuperating but we did get to do a lot. Because we were there during the week (not the weekend) and it is what's considered the off season, there was little to no waiting on many of the attractions we went on. Besides the rides at Epcot and Animal Kingdom, the same held true for the Magic Kingdom. Pirates of the Caribbean, Thunder Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, The Laugh Floor and The Haunted House were no wait attractions leaving us plenty of time to enjoy the pool for several hours.
On our first night we ate at Japan in Epcot. It's an upstairs restaurant and we were seated up front which is all glass. Dinner was at 8:45 so we got to see all the fireworks.
On our last night we at in Canada's Le Cellier and it was the best meal I have ever had in any of the Disney restaurants. It was a bit pricey but we are always prepared for that on our family trips.
Our check out was at 11AM on Saturday which happened to be my son's birthday. This year, Disney's policy is to give you a free ticket to get into any park free. But if you have a season pass, as we all do, they give you a gift card with the value of the entry fee instead. So my son walked over to Epcot to get his gift card while the rest of us hung out at the pool.
We all finally left in the late afternoon (though we all wanted to stay longer). My son stopped at a local gas station and who do you think he ran into?

I'm taking a Break
I will not be blogging, or Entrecard dropping or advetising. I will not be Facebooking and there will be no new items in the shop. I'm taking a break. I'll be back online in a week, I hope you all will come back then.

Nine Patch
I had originally intended to make a kaleidoscope quilt with this fabric donated to me by Vicki W. But lately, I have had no ambition at all to do anything even vaguely complicated so, here are 20 rather large nine patches. Can you guess what I'm going to do with them?

Sting Quilts
All the blocks are now together. I will not be adding any borders, just leaving it as is. It will be donated to the Heartstings Group for completion and donation.

String Blocks
I have no ambition. I have no inspiration. I have no new ideas, but I just can't sit around doing nothing. I pulled out the blocks I received in two different HGTV Choose your own Color string blocks swaps. In one swap I requested blocks with 30's style fabrics and in another swap I requested florals. I do not have enough of either to make a decent size quilt but look at them side by side. Can't tell which is which so I decided to mix them together.
Out of the many many blocks I received only 4 were cut too small and are unusable.
I don't think many of the HGTV gals know how to center the center string because they are way off. Maybe I should do a lesson on how to do that.

Weekend Review
I made some a few new postcards for the shop this weekend. Then I got a bright idea.
Why not do something with all those nickel charm packs? I started to make some yo-yos. I planned to make sets of 25 and sell them in the shop. To get a better idea of what type of price to put on them I checked out Etsy and Ebay. That was a quick deterrent to making any more yo-yos. There are already bunches of gals making them and they are very inexpensive. I might continue this project, with plans on selling them in the 2011 Broward Quilt Expo. Well, maybe I could make blocks in groups of 12 and sell them? I don't know, just thinking out loud.

Blue Thursday
OK so it's a stupid title but I couldn't come up with anything else.
There is a big highway exchange not too far from my home. All the overpasses are a different color. So why am I telling you this? Can't you guess? You'll have to come back on Saturday to find out.
The picture is not too bad either, I took it while driving the car.

Fabric Postcards
I have created some new fabric postcards for my etsy shop. I'm not so sure I like the way my new easel looks but at least the cards look more square than before.
I don't think the average viewer realizes how much work is involved in making these little art works. All that buttonhole stitching around each letter or design is very time consuming. I have been selling them for $5.00 and I wonder if that price is too low. Do you think I should raise the price to $6.00. Let me know what you think.

My Photography Studio
I've started making some mini bowls. Maybe less expensive will result in more sales.
As for my most professional photography studio let's just take a few steps back from the above shot.

The biggest problem with this method are the tiny little ants that keep getting in the shot. Have you got a better idea? I'm open for suggestions.
