I am Pissed Off!
1. I have been looking for a job for 3 months now. There are very few but the few I have found I wouldn't even apply for. Besides being a medical biller, they want you to also answer the phones, do some filing, accounts payable and they want you to be bilingual. They pretty much want you to perform miracles for which they will pay you $5. less than I was making at my last job which was just billing.
2. This blog was really supposed to be for me to keep a journal of things I have made. I tried hard to keep the language simple, post lots of pictures and to generally be sweet and friendly. My few rants were mild mannered and written as to not offend anyone (none of which is the real me). If I made a few friends along the way, that's just great. Yesterday, I found a blog grader and tried it out. My score is so low I am embarrassed to reveal it. They said I have too many pictures which slows down the loading time. In addition, writing style is grade school level.
3. In the past two months, 3 old friends have vacationed in Ft Lauderdale. They all were here to lounge around the pool but were too busy to visit with me. They all know I am out of work so I would have plenty of time to lounge around the pool with them.
4. The raccoons ate 4 of my 6 pond fish and no I don't live in the country.
5. The roof still leaks around the fireplace no matter how much work has been done to it.
So, if I don't post for awhile, or my posts are not so cheery, or I don't respond to your comment, or I do respond but are not so polite. or if I am just generally crabby, you now know why. Deal with it.

Cotton Thread
Having used almost all the piecing thread I bought a few years ago, it was time to buy some more. I have used every type of thread (at ridiculously high prices) and I just don't see the point. I do like Aurefil, but I save that for special projects. I have many colored threads, but those I save for when it shows. But for everyday piecing this stuff is great, 12,000 yards and only $7.95 a spool. Can't beat that and they will last me a few years.

Alycia Quilts
Because I have so many 2 1/2" squares, I have been following along with Alycia and her Not So Top Secret Two Project. I am really liking the way it is coming out so far. It might be due to the use of reds, a color I don't use very often. I am hoping Alycia has a good idea for the borders. Those corner stones sticking out are making me worry about how difficult her border will be.

OMG
Sometimes the generosity of others just overwhelms me. The fabulous Vicki W sent me a huge package. It contains 8, yes I said 8, craft size batts. That's enough for 16 preemie quilts. She sent a whole cloth quilt kit, tons of precut squares (I think I see some DNP in the near future) and a few unfinished projects. Oh, my, I'm still working on the last box she sent me. This ought to keep me busy for the rest of the summer and then some. Hey, go visit her etsy shop. She has some gorgeous hand dyed fabrics and painted fabrics for sale.

Poll
While I have sold a few postcards at my etsy shop, I really don't know what kind of card people would prefer. I am hoping for some feedback from my small number of followers. Please take a second to vote over there on the sidebar.
Thanks........

Fabric Postcards, again
I really like making postcards, but what do you do with them when you're done? I traded for awhile, that was fun, but I now have a large collection of cards with no where to display them or store them. I suppose I could send them to family and friends but much like my quilts, they would go unappreciated (and likely in the trash). Etsy has proven to be the perfect solution. Just let me know if you get tired of seeing them (I have lots of ideas for more cards.)
This one was a good idea that turned out a bit goofy. Happy 4th of July.
The next two were made specifically with the quilter in mind. I know I wouldn't mind getting one like these.
I have to once again thank Vicki W for her scraps. There were several batik pieces in the box but not enough for any one project. These colors remind me of the shallow waters of Key Biscayne, a pale neon green, I just love it.

Finished
I finished the Alycia's Not So Top Secret Project quilt top. Somehow it just doesn't look quite right. Maybe I didn't set the blocks correctly, maybe it's just too busy (how can that be?) Anyway, there is still a ton of 2 1/2" squares, so I think maybe I might try Alycia's Not so Top Secret Project Two.

Copy Write Question
I had an idea to make postcards (for my etsy shop) of college/university logos. The designs are easy enough to find on the net. But someone said "you can't do that, they are copy writed". I'm not so sure about that. You can go to Joann's or Walmart and find logo fabric so why can't you use it in a craft to sell?
Does anyone out there know for sure?

Mindless Sewing
I have been collecting 2 1/2" square for a long time now. I just keep shoving them in a box. Sometimes, I sew them together into twos using the Bonnie Hunter enders/leaders method. But mostly they just sit in the box.
Recently I received a box of scraps from Vicki W. I discoverd a large stack of 2 1/2" squares in the box, which prompted me to sew some more of them together.
Sometimes I sew the twos into fours.
Today I decided to sew the fours into sixteens. I'm thinking maybe I might make them into one of Alycia's Not so Top Secret Project. Or maybe one of Mary's 16 Patch and Pinwheels. Right now I am not making any decisions, I just want to do some mindless sewing.
