Candle Mats

I have created a new batch of candle mats. I just can't seem to keep them in stick. I hope these disappear as quickly as the last batch.

Great Big Strawberry

I made the first one of these a few weeks ago and it was a big success. I had several likes and it sold within days. So I guess I'll give it a try again and see what happens.

Great Big Pineapple Unfinished Quilt Top

Something new and a little different for me. This Great Big pineapple measures 18 1/2 inches x 28 inches. It would make a really nice wall hanging or table runner.

Vintage Valentine Block #7

One of 12 blocks, this one is #7. It measures 15" x 15" and is made of top-quality cotton. The pieces are fused in place, then buttonhole stitched around using matching cotton thread. All the thread tails are drawn to the back and rethreaded through the existing stitching to prevent and unraveling. It would make a great pillow, wall hanging or the start of something larger. Come and visit me at zizzybob - Etsy where there are several more Vintage Valentine blocks.

The Best Photo Ever

This picture was taken last April while on a cruise. There are not many pictures of me, probably because I usually look like death in all of them. But this is by far, the best picture of me since my high school yearbook picture. And to make it even better, my son is in it wearing his tux.

Merry Christmas to All

There was a time when I purchased a live Christmas tree and a live wreath every year. But it's warm in Florida, and every year the needles would be falling off days before Christmas ever got here. We finally broke down and got a fake tree and wreath. I decorate the wreath with live Baby's Breath, so it looks like snow. My tree is now 2 foot tall and holds only miniature ornaments. At my age, that is the extent of my decorating.

                    Merry Christmas everyone.

Vintage Valentine

Back in 2006, I went a little crazy and signed up for a block of the month. I really enjoyed making the blocks, but it was just a bit expensive for me.

This piece is the largest of them all, measuring 29 1/2" wide x 30" long.

The pieces have been sitting since then and I seriously doubt that I'll ever quilt it. So, one by one I will be listing the parts and hope that someone loves it as much as I once did.

Shamrocks Appliqued Quit Blocks

With Christmas fast approaching, I don't know of any quilter who would start a Christmas quilt. So, may I suggest starting a St. Patrick's Day quilt.

Fabric Postcards

Miniature quilts that are mailable with only a first-class stamp. It's an interesting way to say Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday or just plain Hello. There are many to choose from in my shop.

Warblers

I have been feeding wild birds for many years. There has always been blue jays and doves with an occasional Florida parrot. It was so very exciting to me when a Cardinal showed up. But all of a sudden, two weeks ago, 4 little green birds decided to pig out at my feeder. I believe they are warblers, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong. In addition to these sweet little green birds, there is also a Painted Bunting that has been showing up regularly. From all that I have read, they are migrating to South America, but I think they have found a home on my feeder, because they are there morning, noon and early evening.

We're up to 19

It's been quite a while since I posted anything here. The last vacation photo I posted was 14 (I think) and now we are up to19. The kids are no longer kids and Grandpa no longer wishes to go. Its still a lot of fun and very relaxing, not having to go to the parks. This photo was taken at breakfast at the Whispering Canyons restaurant, at the Wilderness Lodge.

Disneyworld 14 Wilderness Lodge

The 14th annual family Disneyworld vacation was very laid back. I spent most of the time sitting by the pool, just tuning the whole world out. We met some great ladies from New York and laughed and laughed.

We had a fabulous dinner at the California Grill, on top of the Contemporary Resort, while we watched the fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom.

The vacation would not be complete without the traditional family group shot designating the number of years we have done this as a group .

Disneyworld 13 Day 4 Going Home

I hate the last day of any vacation. The packing up and checking the room to make sure you haven't left something behind, always makes me sad. None of us were in the mood to get dressed and schlep out for breakfast, so room service was a good idea, especially since the breakfast menu was pretty good. I have had room service many times in my life and its always the same, the waiter brings the food on a big tray and leaves it, end of story. But this was something a little different and was a big surprise. That surprise was the waiter, a British chap by the name of Martin. He set a fancy table and made a big production of it. He told us of his service to the Queen, (yes Elizabeth not Cinderella) and his two years in butler school. He went on to tell us of all his adventures and how he ended up a server in Disneyworld. I really cant tell you if all his stories were real or just made up, but he sure did entertain us and brightened our morning. Thank you Martin, for making checking out not so bad.
