I guess that's what you would call it. But I made it with a loosely woven fabric which has several metallic threads running through it. I used a red metallic thread to stitch it together, so I guess putting anything hot on it is a bad idea. Can't call it a doily, so what do I call it?

Vase pad? Not sure really. It is cute though.
Put a clear glass dish on it, add a candle..and zippi-do-do-dah...you have a beautiful candle mat!
