String Blocks

I have no ambition. I have no inspiration. I have no new ideas, but I just can't sit around doing nothing. I pulled out the blocks I received in two different HGTV Choose your own Color string blocks swaps. In one swap I requested blocks with 30's style fabrics and in another swap I requested florals. I do not have enough of either to make a decent size quilt but look at them side by side. Can't tell which is which so I decided to mix them together.
Out of the many many blocks I received only 4 were cut too small and are unusable.

I don't think many of the HGTV gals know how to center the center string because they are way off. Maybe I should do a lesson on how to do that.

But for every one that is cockeyed there are the same amount that come together perfectly.

And in the end, when you put lots of them together, no one will even notice that the centers don't match. I'm really liking this one. Only 4 more rows like this one to go.

Even when I make them all myself they sometimes don't come together. But you are right, once they are assembled you can't tell.

I like how they did come together even though they came from different places.

I don't sew so have great respect for those that can do it artistically. I love that last photo.
