Finished

I have at last finished my Downy Quilts for Kids quilt. They do not give you enough fabric to cut a binding, you are supposed to fold the back to the front. But I am a creature of habit and much prefer a double fold binding. I just happen to have some solid blue, which matched the main fabric perfectly. I am really happy with the way this quilt turned out.

I think your Downey quilt is just about perfect! I don't like the "wrapped binding" either. Your blue looks good!

I'm with you on the binding. Kids quilts get exceptionally hard use and need those edges to be double!

What a lovely, bright, fun quilt! The binding looks perfect - I do like a contrasting binding to finish a quilt off :)

I'm like you - I just can't do the fold over thing - I like my corners to be mitered and look nice.

I was lucky enough though that I had enough all the way around that when I trimmed off the excess that wasn't quilted I could cut into 2.5" strips and have "JUST enough" for binding.

I think your blue looks perfect for yours - great job! ;)
